ING Group is a Dutch origin of banking, insuring, and asset-managing services. One of the world's largest insurance and financial services companies, its operations are focused on its home market of Benelux, as well as Asia/Pacific, Europe, and North America. Key products include life and non-life insurance, pensions, and retirement services. Its banking operations include wholesale and retail banking and mortgage lending. The company's ING Direct business offers online retail banking for individuals in nine countries in North America, Europe, and the Pacific. ING provides asset management for individuals and institutional investors through both its insurance and banking businesses.

ING stands for Internationale Nederlanden Groep. ING has a widely-admired headquarters building near Schipol airport in Amesterdam. The light-infused building features loggias, patios, interior gardens and sweeping views from an unusually large percentage of the offices. It is supported by tall (9 to 12 meters high) posts so that a rail or auto passenger looks under, not at it. It is also somewhat renowned as an autonomous building. ING Group covers 75 million private, corporate and institutional clients in 50 countries with a workforce of over 120,000 people. It has offices in many countries like Australia, Canada, Germany, France, India and United States. It owns ING Direct, a virtual bank with operations in Australia, Canada, Spain, UK, USA and elsewhere. In the 2008 Forbes Global 2000, ING was the ninth-largest company in the world.
